We thought it would be nice to introduce everyone to our wedding party. So, here goes:
Our officiant:
Amy Costanza-Smith – Keith met Amy in his early swing dancing years. She and her husband, Lindsey, later became his “slumlords” while Keith lived in their basement in Portland, OR. Now, Keith refers to Amy as his big sister and, in fact, they interact very much like siblings. Amy works as a speech therapist in Portland, OR. We are honored that she has agreed to perform our ceremony. Her two daughters are going to be our ring bearer (Sophia) and flower girl (Lucia). They were also the inspiration for our nickname “The Gablesons” as these adorable girls have the last name: Smithstanza.

Keith’s side:
Jesse Hazleton – My younger brother and fellow homebrewer and Oregon State fanatic. He’s currently living in Corvallis (maybe Albany soon!) with his wife, Erin. He works as unit secretary at Good Samaritan Hospital while going to school to get his RN.

Britt Conroy – Britt and I have been friend since our days at that now defunct Highland Middle School. Our academic careers continued together at Corvallis High and Oregon State until finally diverging when Britt headed to Oxford to pursue a Master’s in International Affairs.

Matthew Schrumpf – Matt and I first got to know each other on the wrestling team at CHS long ago, but had our friendship refreshed when both of us came out to New York City for grad school. Matt is a grad of NYU Law School and is current an Assistant Attorney General in Massachusetts.

Kunal Sanghvi – Kunal and I met each other in med school and were brought close by our mutual appreciation of beer. Kunal was able to convince me out of my luxury studio apartment to be his roommate for two years and gave me the honor of being one of his groomsmen this past July.

Sarah Wilder Giacomotto – Sarah and I met each other back in our swing dancing days during one of my many trips to Seattle. In recent years, we haven’t lived particularly close to each other, but we’ve always been able to keep our friendship growing. Sarah now lives in San Jose with her husband, Dr. Christophe Giacomotto and their little son Milo.

Joy’s Side:
Randy Gibson (Man of Honor) - My older brother and close friend. Being fairly close in age, I’ve always looked up to my brother and am grateful to be living in the same city as him and be able to stay so close. Randy is a classical avant garde music composer, amazing chef and spectacular bartender. He lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Audrey McDonald (Best Woman) – Audrey has been one of my best friends since freshman year in high school when we met while taking Japanese together. We’ve been through a lot together and despite not living in the same place for over 8 years now, she’s still one of my closest friends and favorite backpacking companion (except Keith of course). Audrey recently earned a master’s in Zoology studying crustacean molting and is currently working as a research technician in Fort Collins, CO.

Cerisa Reynolds (Maid of Honor) – I have been friends with Cerisa since freshman year in high school when we would spend 8+ hours talking on the phone together. We’ve cut that down to 2-3 hours now… Cerisa is like a sister to me and is one of the most important people in my life. Cerisa is getting a PhD in Archeology in Iowa doing research that I believe involves gaining anthropologic information from bones found during digs.

Aubre Lawless – My closest friend from college, we met while taking Anatomy together and bonded over cadavers and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Aubre got her degree in sociology and is working at a psychiatric center in Tacoma, WA. She spends a large amount of her free time racing a sail boat!

Evanthia Roussos - Evanthia and I became instant friends when we started school together at Einstein. We also bonded over cadavers in Anatomy and share a love of classical dance. Evanthia is a ballet dancer and getting an MD/PhD at Einstein doing research on breast cancer.

Masha Kon – Masha and I also met at Einstein. We traveled to Cancun together for spring break during our first year and became close friends, sharing our love of going out dancing and watching movies while drinking herbal tea. Masha is getting an MD/PhD at Einstein doing research on protein turnover in cancer cells.
