Unfortunately, the majority of the hotels in that area are around the same price, but there are a number of hotels outside of downtown:
McMenamin’s White Eagle Rock ‘n’ Roll hotel – another McMenamin’s establishment that is just outside of downtown. We haven’t heard much about this particular McMenamin’s hotel, but all the other ones we’ve stayed at have been great. Right off the MAX yellow line, so easy to get to by public transit. Our favorite McMenamin’s hotel in Portland was already booked for August 14th, so if you want to stay here we recommend booking soon!
Convention Center Red Lion – located just over the Willamette River from downtown and right on the light rail.
Hillsboro Holiday Inn Express – this hotel is close to the wedding venue and also near the Orenco lightrail station. There are also a few other hotels in this area.
